Overview
Fast ForWord to Reading Series 1-5 software is a suite of products that marries cognitive skill development to reading skill development through computer delivered exercises.

- Strengthens working, short-term and long-term memory, essential for word recognition, comprehension of complex sentences, and remembering instructions.
- Improves student concentration and attention so they can focus on tasks and ignore distractions.
- Strengthens processing skills so that students see images and distinguish sounds quickly enough to discriminate their differences, essential for phonemic awareness and reading fluency
- Improves sequencing, a cognitive skill that relies on memory, attention, and processing and is essential for phonics, word fluency, reading and oral comprehension.
Learning to Read :
Learning to read is one of the most difficult challenges a student faces in his or her lifetime. Before a student learns to read,he or she must first and foremost have adequate language skills - including the critical ability to differentiate the sounds that make up words,and thus hear the differences between words.
With this ability mastered, the student is prepared to make the leap from spoken to written words and map the sounds they hear to letters. Because writing is an invented system, students must learn the "invented principles" underlying written language. Mastering written language not only takes explicit instruction and much practice, but as neuroscience research has shown, it also requires that a student's brain be ready to learn.
